MWC 2024: Oppo Air Glass 3 to OnePlus Watch 2, here are the top 10 things to know


The Mobile World Conference (MWC) 2024 kicked off yesterday with several innovative launches. From smartwatches to next-generation smartphones, tech companies have been expanding their offerings and more such announcements are expected over the coming days. In addition to the launches at MWC 2024, companies are also presenting their products of the future that are currently in the design or development stage – for example, Deutsche Telekom’s mobile concept, without an app. However, here let’s take a look at what has been launched and announced so far, from the Oppo Air Glass 3, Xiaomi SU7 to the OnePlus Watch 2.

MWC 2024 with 10 announcements

  1. Oppo Air 3 glass: Oppo presented its prototype of augmented reality (AR) glasses with voice assistant. The smart glasses will be powered by Oppo’s Large Language Model (LLM) called AndesGPT. It will also support touch sensors on the sides.
  2. TecnoPova 6 Pro: Techno has unveiled its new generation of Tecno Pova smartphones to the world. The Tecno Pova 6 Pro is powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 6080 SoC and is backed by a 6,000mAh battery that supports 70W fast charging.
  3. OnePlus Watch 2: OnePlus’ new smartwatch will run on Google’s Wear OS 4. It is powered by two chipsets: Qualcomm Snapdragon W5 and the BES 2700 MCU. The OnePlus Watch 2 claims to offer up to 100 hours of battery life.
  4. Xiaomi SU7 electric car: After the launch of Xiaomi 14 Ultra, the company introduced its new SU7 electric car which can reach 0-100 km/h in 2.78 seconds.
  5. Samsung Galaxy Ring: Samsung has once again given more details on its expected Galaxy Ring. Its functionality will include built-in sensors to measure heart rate, movement, breathing, sleep patterns and much more.
  6. Lenovo’s transparent laptop: Lenovo presents its prototype for the ThinkBook Transparent Display laptop. It comes with a 17.3-inch MicroLED display with a peak brightness of 1,000 nits.
  7. Motorola rollable phone: Motorola presents its latest Bend phone prototype and its adaptive display concept. Additionally, the company, in partnership with Lenovo, announced Smart Connect, which will allow the smartphone to perform various functionalities.
  8. Infinix Electronic Color Change: Infinix has announced its new concept color-changing phone. Additionally, the company is currently working on software that will allow users to choose between different colors.
  9. Gemini to Google Messages: Google has made several announcements regarding Android and app updates in which it has talked about integrating the Gemini chatbot into Google Messages. In the coming weeks, the feature will be rolled out to Google’s beta testing program.
  10. Qualcomm Wi-Fi 7 chip: The company announced its new AI-enhanced FastConnect 7900 which will be integrated with Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth and UWB. The chip aims to equip the user with full proximity capabilities.
